Press Release Summary: FDA Regulated GenBio Endorses Commence CRM

Press Release Body: Commence Corporation is a leading provider of Customer
Relationship Management solutions. The company's products are designed to provide
growing businesses with flexible solutions that leverage the Web to offer an
integrated platform for managing sales execution and customer service. Commence
supports several thousand customers through a worldwide distribution network, with
outlets in North and South America, Europe and Asia.

Bryan Kiehl, Ph.D. is Vice President of San Diego-based GenBio and has used Commence
CRM since the early 1990's. According Kiehl, "We have used Commence for many years
and consider it one of two key programs needed at GenBio. Our accounting/inventory
management software is the other. If ever needed, we may integrate the Commence
database and the Accounting software MSSQL. Because it is a distributed database, I
find that it is not useful if data is serial. We use a centralized database for
inventory control and accounting information. I consider Commence an ideal
information management tool but not ideal to store large amounts of numeric or
serial data. I don't think the problem would be speed, Commence look up is very
fast, but instead input from several clients at one time."

GenBio develops and manufactures in vitro diagnostic kits. In the early 1990's Kiehl
noted that the company "Needed internal software to keep track of regulatory
information. This primarily related to U.S. FDA requirements. During the past
fifteen years the in vitro diagnostic industry has seen increasing world-wide
regulatory scrutiny. The U.S. FDA enacted new laws in 1997 that requires additional
information management. Additionally, the European Union (EU) enacted the In Vitro
Diagnostic (IVD) directive which required additional information management and
China is also enacting rules that require information.

GenBio's initial need was:
. regulatory affairs documentation
. maintenance record keeping
. complaint documentation
. document control
.
Commence is currently used for these same purposes but an important Commence
advantage is our internal ability to make changes as more or different requirements
are added.

Kiehl also suggested that for a small company like GenBio, we find the most
important advantages are:
1. Distributed database assuring backup
2. Ease to program and adjust needs without outside programming expertise
3. Excellent calendar

General Benefits
1. Database is on each machine, essentially eliminating need for backup and recovery
system.
We use one offsite FTP client to assure offsite backup.
2. Immediate changes made within company. Outside programming expertise is not
required.
3. Product has proven remarkably stable and Commence has offered excellent support.
In a small company this is a key benefit.

Specific Benefits
1. Maintenance scheduling - Our program implementation allows a manager to schedule
items and these are then listed to the assigned person to perform weekly
maintenance. Once the task is completed, the outcome is reported. If there is a
failure or problem it is both documented and reported to quality indicating further
action is required.
2. Document Control - GenBio is required to track all document changes. This is
common within most regulated businesses. Along with various network strategies,
Commence is used.
3. Manufacturing Specification - Product information such as shelf-life, storage and
hazards are reviewed during the manufacturing time. This information is indirectly
related to the above document control use.
